Today marks the two-week until departure date! I spent yesterday afternoon going through all of the paperwork for our trip and making sure everything is in order. Our Eurail passes, ticket confirmations, apartment rentals all look good. In fact, just moments ago paypal made life easier by taking our money and sending it to Belgium as our final payment for our apartment in Bruges. The only thing I haven't done (yet have thought about many times) is arrange for the rental car we'll need while in the south of France. Perhaps now that I've actually written it I'll go and do that as soon as I log out of this.
I have spent way too much time obsessing about what to pack. We will be taking only carry-on sized bags with us which means absolutely everything we take must count! No frivilous ball gowns on this trip! Because we will be traveling by train a lot (as well as needing to fit our suitcases into a small, European sized trunk) we are trying to minimize our 'stuff'. Plus, everywhere we'll be staying has washing facilities so it won't be a problem (aside from being bored of wearing the same things!) Even things like reading materials need to be thought about. We are only bringing novels that both Jeff and I want to read so that we don't lug too many books around. The kids have some books on their iPods too which is nice, but the rate that Chloe plows through her chapter books means that she'll have to keep reading the same ones over and over due to space constrictions!
Off to do more thinking...
