We have packed our bags and have half an hour until we leave for the aiport. Amazingly enough we have fit everything into our original 4 suitcases and didn't even need the small fold up bag we brought in case of a packing emergency. However, we did throw a lot of things in the garbage to make up for the (almost) full suitcase of dutch licorice and candy, and 4 bottles of wine. Both Jeff and I tossed our jeans, Julia threw out a pair of flip flops and running shoes, and Chloe decided to part with the shoes with a missing strap. Fait accompli!
It's a rainy, grey day here in Amsterdam which always makes it easier to leave. We walked down to the grocery store (yes Christin, we bought you some things from your wish list!) and grabbed some sandwiches for lunch. Time to pack up the computer and get ready to watch multiple movies on the plane!
Tot ziens......! (Oh, and just to complete the experience we got a huge whiff of wacky tobaccy as we walked past a 'coffee shop' on the way home this morning. That sweet smell of Amsterdam...)
