Our house here in Begur does not have internet. We thought it did, although admittedly I never really checked - just assumed. You know what assuming does.... Anyway, it's a cute little town and we saw a little internet cafe which we were heading to until we saw an internet BAR - really! This town rocks. We've been here checking email, blogging, Jeff doing some email work stuff, and generally enjoying ourselves for the last hour. Instead of crappy coffee I have a nicely chilled glass of vino blanco and we've had some delightful tapas. Chloe has been eating anchovy stuffed olives without realizing what they were! Of course they're olives, but if we'd told her about the anchovies she never would've eaten them - but she's had about 15 of them so far. Julia, on the other hand, has had about 4 'croquettes' that we think are filled with some kind of fish goo. Again, we aren't sure, but they are warm and delicious! We aren't asking a lot of questions, and sometimes that's the way to go.
Today was very relaxed... we drove around for awhile just getting our bearings (barings?) and figuring out this hilly town. There are fabulous beaches everywhere and it looks amazing - but today we chose to get some cheese and salami and fresh baguettes and just hang out in our amazing backyard pool. When you rent a place you hope you're getting everything the picture says but you really never know until you arrive. Our place is perfect (aside from Wi-Fi!) so we ate simple cheese and salami sandwiches washed down with rose wine and iced tea. (Forgive the lack of accent on rose - this little computer won't allow it!) The kids swam for about 3 hours while we just hung out and read our books and relaxed. This is truly a vacation!
Now we're off to walk around the town square and do a little window shopping. It's 6:30 pm here but dinner isn't for at least 2 hours! Last night we ate at an amazing restaurant that was filled with kids even when we left at 11 pm. Different lifestyle, that's for sure! We've been sleeping until 10 am so who's to complain? ;)
Good-bye for now... and if you haven't already checked out my post from yesterday (which was really from today!) just scroll down. :)
